Kazakhstan will implement a trillion tenge industrial project
According to a report by Kazakhstan Capital Network on June 2, Atamkulov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, said that under the implementation framework of the National Industrial Innovation Development Plan, The processing manufacturing index increased by 4.4% in 2019 and 7% from January to April 2020. Under the framework of the industrialization roadmap, 160 projects with a total value of 1.1 trillion tenge will be put into operation in 2020, creating more than 17,000 permanent jobs. The fastest growing industries include light industry (up 13.9%), pharmaceuticals (24.2%), building materials (15.6%), machinery manufacturing (25.4%), petroleum processing (1.5%), etc.
A stressed that the light industry has maintained a positive momentum of development, with 1,116 companies engaged in the industry. At present, Kazakhstan can produce textiles, carpets, children’s and adult clothing, footwear, hats and other commodities, among which the cotton fiber industry has the highest added value. The product range of the chemical industry has expanded, and Kazakhstan’s domestic companies are able to produce caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite, detergents, new coatings, explosives, and agrochemical products. Kazakhstan’s automobile production exceeded 50,000 vehicles in 2019 and exceeded 23,000 vehicles from January to April 2020. Hyundai Motor Kazakhstan Company in Almaty will start light vehicle production within the year, with an annual output of 30,000 vehicles.
