Argentina makes a positive final ruling on its second anti-dumping review of Chinese denim
On April 27, 2022, Argentina’s Ministry of Production and Development issued Announcement No. 326 of 2022 in Argentina’s “Official Gazette”, imposing the second anti-dumping on denim originating in China. The sunset review made an affirmative final decision and decided to maintain the anti-dumping measures determined in Announcement No. 434 of 2016 and maintain the minimum price of US$3.93/linear meter unchanged. The products involved are natural, bleached, gray or light-dyed denim with a weight of less than or equal to 200 grams per square meter, involving Mercosur customs codes 5208.43.00, 5209.42.10, 5209.42.90, 5210.49.10, 5211.42.10, Products under 5211.42.90. The announcement takes effect from the date of issuance and is valid for 5 years.
On September 8, 2010, the Ministry of Industry of Argentina issued Announcement No. 65 of 2010, making the original and final ruling on the anti-dumping case of denim originating in China. It was decided to set the minimum FOB export price limit for the products involved in the case at US$3.13/linear meter. For the products involved in the case whose declared FOB price is lower than the minimum price, the difference between the two prices will be levied as anti-dumping duties, which will be valid for 5 years. On September 7, 2016, Argentina’s Ministry of Original Production issued Announcement No. 434 of 2016, making the first affirmative final anti-dumping sunset review of the products involved, maintaining the minimum offshore export price limit anti-dumping measures for the products involved, and setting the minimum price limit Adjusted to US$3.93/linear meter, valid for 5 years. On September 3, 2021, Argentina’s Ministry of Production and Development issued Announcement No. 518 of 2021, launching the second anti-dumping sunset review investigation into denim originating in China.
