According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Trade, Turkey’s clothing exports from January to June 2022 reached US$9.818 billion, an increase of 16.43% compared with the same period in 2021. The export value in 2021 US$8.432 billion.
In terms of category, the export value of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 61) from January to June 2022 was US$5.443 billion, compared with the same period in 2021 US$4.827 billion, a growth of 12.76%.
The export value of non-knitted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 62) was US$4.374 billion, an increase of 21.4% from US$3.604 billion in the same period in 2021.
The import value of cotton, cotton yarn and cotton textiles (HS Chapter 52) increased significantly by 65.4% to US$2.79 billion from January to June 2022, exceeding 2021 1.686 billion in the same period.
Turkey’s export value of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 61) and non-knitted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 62) in 2021 reached US$18.294 billion .
