Cotton yarn prices in northern India fluctuate and cotton prices are under pressure

Textile factories in northern India have switched to polyester-cotton and polyester yarn. Some textile factories have switched to using higher-count yarn to reduce cotton consumption. Yarn traders do not expect buyer support in the current situation. According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, in Ludhiana, 30-count worsted cotton yarn is priced at 385-390 rupees per kilogram (including excise tax), an increase of 3 rupees. 20-count and 25-count worsted cotton yarns are trading at Rs 375-380 and Rs 380-385 per kg. The price of 30 count woolen yarn is 340-345 rupees per kilogram.
Delhi market quotations remain stable, and buyers purchase as needed. Traders and textile mills tried to increase yarn prices, but the market was not supportive. A trader from Delhi said export demand has dropped again and buyers are buying only for immediate consumption. Local demand is also scarce. 30 count worsted yarn is trading at Rs 375-380 per kg (excluding GST), 40 count worsted yarn is trading at Rs 415-420 per kg, 30 count worsted yarn is trading at Rs 340-345 per kg, 40 count Woolen yarn is trading at Rs 375-380 per kg.
Panipat recycled yarn trading sentiment was weak. Prices of recycled yarns with higher counts fell by as much as Rs 10 per kilogram compared to last week. There were signs of an improvement in buying conditions last week, but buyers changed their minds after yarn prices rose, trade sources said. In the Panipat market, the price of 30-count recycled yarn fell by Rs 10 to Rs 160-165 per kg (excluding GST). Prices rose last week but were unable to sustain due to lack of buying demand. Prices of 20-count recycled yarn also fell by Rs 5 per kg, but other counts and varieties remained stable. 10-count recycled yarn (white) is trading at Rs 90-95 per kg (excluding GST), 10-count recycled yarn (colored-high quality) is trading at Rs 110-115 per kg, 10-count recycled yarn (colored-low) is trading at Rs. quality) trading price is 80-85 rupees per kilogram. Meanwhile, cotton prices in northern India were under pressure after reports of textile mills shutting down yarn production. However, cotton prices showed an upward trend last week. According to traders, trading volume was very light due to reduced demand and supply. In Punjab, cotton is traded at Rs 10,300-10,500 per morund (37.2 kg), in Haryana at Rs 10,000-10,200 and in northern Rajasthan at Rs 10,300-10,500. In Rajasthan, cotton is sold at Rs 96,000-98,000 per kandi (356 kg).
