Peru makes a positive preliminary anti-dumping decision on Chinese polyester fiber fabrics
On August 25, 2022, the Committee on Dumping, Subsidies and Non-tariff Trade Barriers of the National Institute for Competition and Intellectual Property Protection of Peru published Article 190 in the official daily newspaper “El Peruano” Announcement No. -2022/CDB-INDECOPI stated that a positive preliminary anti-dumping ruling was made on 100% polyester fiber fabrics originating in China. The preliminary ruling imposed a temporary anti-dumping tax of US$3.93/kg on the products involved, which is valid for 6 months. The products involved are natural, white or dyed 100% plain polyester fabrics with a width less than 1.8 meters and a unit weight between 80 g/m2 and 200 g/m2, involving Peruvian tax numbers 5512.11.00.00 and 5512.19 Products under .00.00. The measures will take effect from the day after the announcement is made.
On January 26, 2022, the Committee on Dumping, Subsidies and Non-tariff Trade Barriers of the National Institute for Competition and Intellectual Property Protection of Peru issued No. 007-2022/CDB-INDECOPI Announcement, in response to the application of Peruvian company Tecnología Textil S.A., an anti-dumping investigation was launched against 100% polyester fabrics originating in China.
