Bangladesh seeks to expand synthetic clothing exports
According to Bangladesh’s “Daily Sun” report on September 15, Farooq Hassan, Chairman of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), was in Dhaka on Wednesday. Bangladesh is looking to tap the potential of man-made fiber (MMF) garment exports as global demand for synthetic garments rises , Bangladesh’s garment industry is paying great attention to diversifying the categories of garment products, especially non-cotton and high-value goods. India has a huge textile industry with considerable supply capacity of man-made fibers and blended textiles. India is also an important destination for Bangladesh’s ready-made garment exports. This business situation creates opportunities for Bangladesh and India to promote the development of the garment and textile industries in both countries. Farooq Hasan also emphasized on strengthening more direct business interactions between Bangladeshi readymade garment exporters and Indian textile suppliers to strengthen mutually beneficial relationships that would benefit both parties.
