I am very happy to gather with you all in Fuzhou, the “Fuzhou State”, to talk about fiber “things that benefit the people.” On behalf of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, I would like to congratulate you on the success of the forum! From the beauty of Chinese clothing to the safety of people’s livelihood, from the strength of national defense to smooth transportation, fiber materials are widely used in various fields of production and life. Fiber innovation not only determines the value and application of the textile industry, but also affects the development and shape of the economy and society.
The development of new fiber materials is an important engine for building a modern industrial system. Fujian is my country’s major economic region and the frontier of opening up, and is of special importance in realizing the overall strategy of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and building a new dual-circulation development pattern. During his inspection tour of Fujian this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward new requirements of “four greater”, giving Fujian a higher position in the times. As a dominant industry, Fujian has formed a complete fiber industry system from raw material production, fiber manufacturing, textile processing to terminal brands. Especially in Changle, Fuzhou, there are Hengshen, Jinlun, Yongrong, Xinhuayuan, A group of world-class fiber and spinning companies such as Changyuan have formed a 100-billion-level industrial cluster. During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, new materials have become one of the five international brands that Fuzhou should strive to build. Developing the textile fiber industry is a strategic choice for Fujian to undertake new missions in the new era. It is a matter of reality and the future. It is a move that follows the trend and is a timely move.
At present, the world’s changes that have occurred over the past century continue to evolve. The epidemic will have a broad and far-reaching impact on the future. Geopolitics is becoming increasingly complex, and the game between major powers is becoming more intense. The situation and tasks of ensuring the safety of raw materials and achieving technological independence are more urgent. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, “The new materials industry is a strategic and basic industry, and it is also a key area of high-tech competition. We must catch up and catch up.” Here, focusing on building an industrial system with new fiber materials as the core, we Let’s talk about four expectations.
First, we must be high-minded, adhere to innovation-driven development, and accelerate the construction of leading and strategic scientific and technological advantages. Focusing on advanced basic materials, key strategic materials and cutting-edge new materials, we will focus on global scientific and technological frontiers and major development issues, and make breakthroughs in core fiber technology. Strengthen basic research, original innovation, and application innovation, and focus on changes in the basic properties of fibers.�The expansion of derived properties promotes the development of new materials in the direction of high performance, multi-function, lightweight and flexibility. Use market demand to drive industrial innovation, create a collaborative innovation system, and promote the efficient connection and integration of innovation resources.
Second, we must be prudent, adhere to intensive development, and accelerate the construction of a large-scale and coordinated manufacturing system. Consolidate the foundation of industrial manufacturing, focus on quality, and consolidate scale advantages and system advantages. Allocate and integrate resources globally, promote mergers and acquisitions, and accelerate the cultivation of fiber companies with global advantages. Promote the integration of large, small and medium-sized enterprises and the collaboration between upstream and downstream industries to build a more efficient industrial chain and innovation chain. Promote cluster development and accelerate the construction of world-class industrial clusters. Take domestic demand as the strategic basis, integrate into major regional strategies, improve supporting systems, and promote industrial agglomeration.
Third, we must be precise, adhere to digital empowerment, and accelerate the construction of flexible and lean supply capabilities. Integrate into the digital economy and create an ecosystem in which industrial digitalization and digital industrialization evolve together. Strengthen the application of artificial intelligence, digital simulation and other tools in the discovery and design of fiber materials, and use data to drive material innovation. Develop intelligent manufacturing, deepen the construction of industrial Internet and public data platforms, and create a flexible and agile industrial and supply chain. Strengthen the connection with consumption data, achieve accurate matching with the market, rapid response, and develop new models such as service-oriented manufacturing.
Fourth, we must be virtuous, adhere to green transformation, and accelerate the construction of a sustainable and responsible industrial ecology. With the goals of “carbon peak” and “carbon neutrality”, we will accelerate the establishment of a green, low-carbon cycle new materials industry system.
