Russia plans to build a textile industry cluster in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan Details Network reported on November 4 that Islyayev, a member of the Russian-Ukrainian Industrialists Council and a partner of the Russian GRT consulting company, attended the Second International Economic Conference in Uzbekistan It was stated at the forum that in order to implement the results of the Russia-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee in October this year, relevant Russian companies are actively studying the establishment of a textile industry cluster in Uzbekistan to ensure the smooth export of Uzbek textiles to the Russian market and expand cooperation with Uzbekistan.
According to reports, Russia is Uzbekistan’s largest export destination of textiles. From January to September 2022, Uzbekistan’s textile exports to Russia reached US$926.3 million, a year-on-year increase 40%.
