Polyester yarn prices improve in northern India

Foreign news on January 4th: As demand improved on Wednesday, cotton prices in northern India rose, with an increase of 25-50 rupees per morund (37.2 kg). According to local traders, cotton arrivals have not improved and are expected to be 11,000 bales (170 kg each). Cotton is trading at Rs 6,150-6,300 in Punjab, Rs 6,150-6,300 in Haryana, and Rs 6,350-6,425 in Upper Rajasthan. Cotton in lower Rajasthan is sold at Rs 60,500-62,000 per kandhi (356 kg).

The tight supply has also improved market sentiment.”
