Vietnam exports yarn. Ten thousand tons
According to the latest statistics, in January 2023, Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports reached 2.251 billion US dollars, a month-on-month decrease of 22.42%, a year-on-year decrease of 36.98%; the export of yarn was 88,100 tons, a month-on-month decrease 33.77%, a year-on-year decrease of 38.88%; imported yarn was 60,100 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 25.74%, a year-on-year decrease of 35.06%; imported fabrics were US$936 million, a month-on-month decrease of 9.14%, a year-on-year decrease of 32.76%.
It can be seen that affected by the global economic downturn, Vietnam’s textile, garment and yarn exports fell year-on-year in January. The Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) stated that after the Spring Festival, companies quickly resumed production, recruited a large number of skilled workers to complete high-quality orders, and increased the use of domestic raw materials to reduce imports. It is expected that Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports will reach 45-47 billion in 2023 US dollars, orders will pick up in the second or third quarter of this year.
