Canada implements recall of bamboo fiber nursing hoodies made in China
On March 29, 2023, Health Canada announced a recall of bamboo fiber nursing hoodies made in China.
This recall involves KindredBravely brand bamboo fiber nursing hoodies, sold in various colors and sizes for use by nursing mothers. Made from bamboo, acrylic and spandex, the hoodie has drawstring cuffs and a concealed zipper at the chest for breastfeeding convenience. The sewn-in label at the neck features the brand name KindredBravely, size, care instructions and PO number.
The product drawstring has a small plastic cap, which may be swallowed by nursing infants, posing a choking hazard.
The recalled products were sold in Canada from November 2021 to December 2022, with approximately 8 units sold.
As of March 23, 2023, no accidents or casualties have been reported.
Health Canada recommends that you stop using this product immediately, cut the fully extended drawstring and discard it. Consumers can also fill out an online form and provide a photo of a cut drawstring and company branding to apply for $75 in store credit.
