It is reported that our city has developed into the largest cocoon-producing city in the country and the largest mulberry cocoon silk production base in Guangxi. In 2020, the city’s mulberry orchard area was 931,400 acres, and its cocoon output was 141,300 tons, accounting for 31.23% and 37.53% of the region’s total, and 7.69% and 19.44% of the country’s total. The city’s mulberry orchard scale and cocoon silk processing capacity have ranked first for 16 consecutive years. Ranking first among prefecture-level cities in the country, Hechi’s mulberry cocoon and silk industry continues to expand its influence across the country and the region. Entering a new stage of development, the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government based on their resource advantages, seized new development opportunities, comprehensively implemented new development concepts, actively integrated into the new development pattern, and made plans to create a 100-billion-dollar mulberry cocoon silkindustrial cluster‘s decision-making and deployment.

Wang Jun pointed out that the mulberry cocoon and silk industry is the comparative advantage of Hechi’s development. In the development of the industry, we must build confidence, firm belief, and have a sense of crisis. At the meeting, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology informed the city’s mulberry cocoon and silk industry development plan. Yizhou District and Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County introduced the development of their county (district) mulberry cocoon and silk industry. Representatives of participating companies made exchange speeches. .
