In the first quarter of 2021, the operating income of nearly half (46.4%) of textile companies and nearly two-thirds (63.6%) of apparel companies has returned to pre-epidemic levels.

First, based on the current situation, form a synergy for industry recovery. As countries look ahead to economic recovery, the focus will be on two priorities: growth andjobs. The textile industry is related to the national economy and people’s livelihood, especially in emerging economies, and is an important engine of economic growth and employment. The International Textile Federation should give full play to its own advantages, promote the integration of industry policies and practices, ensure the stability and smoothness of the supply chain and value chain, and ensure the effective operation of enterprises, thereby stimulating growth and creating jobs.
The second is to focus on the long term and shape the future of the industry. Not only to promote short-term recovery, but also to lay a solid foundation for more sustainable and inclusive industry economic development in the coming years. At present, the International Textile Federation must improve member services internally, and display the industry image and spread the voice of the industry externally. The International Textile Federation must give full play to its resources andtalent advantages to shape its own future and that of our industry.
Sun Ruizhe finally said: “On June 11, the China National Textile and Apparel Federation will officially release the “14th Five-Year Plan” Development Outline (2021-2025) for the Chinese textile industry. This also made me realize that the International Textile Federation has been and is Everything we do is not a plan but a guide for the development of textiles around the world. Let us be proud of this!”
The meeting also discussed the International Textile Federation awards, cooperation with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the Sustainable Textile Industry Network in Asia (STAR Network).
