Gao Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary-General of the China Textile and Apparel Federation, delivered a keynote speech on the theme of “HighQuality Development Path of China’s Textile Industry during the “14th Five-Year Plan””.

Gao Yong pointed out that in 2020, the main indicators of becoming a textile power have been basically achieved. According to the comparison and analysis of my country’s 26 manufacturing industries and manufacturing powers from the perspectives of scale, innovation capabilities, economic benefits, and industrial structure in 2019 and 2020, the conclusion is that my country has 5 industries that are advanced in the world level, leading among them is the textile industry.

Entering the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, after the textile industry embarks on a new journey to become a powerful country, what are the main tasks of the industry? Gao Yong pointed out that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, if China’s textile industry is to advance its industrial base and modernize its industrial chain, it must first develop the new material industry. For conventional fibers led by polyester and nylon, we must accelerate the pace of functionalization and differentiation; for high-performance fibers, To further optimize and improve. Secondly, it is necessary to increase the proportion of advanced products in textiles, clothing, home textiles, and industrial textiles.

Gao Yong emphasized that during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, in terms of intelligent manufacturing, the China Textile and Apparel Industry Federation launched the “6+1” intelligent demonstration production line. In the past few years, Chinese textile companies have equipped more than 10 million spindles of intelligent cotton spinning equipment. In addition, the technical level of the chemical fiber intelligent production demonstration line, especially the chemical fiber filament production line, has basically reached the world’s first level; the intelligent production lines of clothing and home textiles also show good technical level and production quality and efficiency.

Gao Yong said that while comprehensively promoting smart manufacturing production demonstration lines, we should also consider using information means to upgrade the current large-scale and wide-ranging existing equipment.

Regarding the issue of green production, Gao Yong pointed out that the first step is to realize the greening of fiber, that is, the greening of raw materials; secondly, the greening of the fiber production process must be ensured; and the third step is to realize the greening of products.

Regarding how to promote the modernization of the textile industry chain, Gao Yong explained it with “three adjustments”. The first is to further expand the scale of industrial textiles in the entire textile industry; the second is that in addition to hygiene and anti-epidemic textiles, the application of textiles in transportation, geotechnical and national defense fields must also be further improved; the third is to continue to promote Regional structural adjustment.
