This is an industry-wide annual event we hold at the historical intersection of the “Two Centenary Plan” goals and an important moment to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party; it is also the first year of our “14th Five-Year Plan” and our move towards comprehensive construction It is a key node in the new journey of a modern socialist country and a grand gathering to discuss the future development of the industry. Only by standing on the peaks of history can we “not be afraid of the clouds that obscure our vision,” gain a clearer insight into the current situation and tasks, and grasp the direction of progress more accurately.

Great achievements for thousands of years and glory for a century. Under the leadership of the party, the Chinese nation has ushered in a historic leap from standing up, getting rich, and becoming strong, and earth-shaking changes have taken place in China. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee has accurately judged the new characteristics of the century-old changes in the world, closely followed the new changes in the main contradictions in domestic society under the new normal, and used new theories to guide new practices. , opening up a new realm of high-quality development. The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has taken a solid step forward. As an important force in the development of the national economy, the textile industry, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, has thoroughly implemented new development concepts, been down-to-earth, pioneered and innovated, and achieved historic breakthroughs.

1. The textile industry achieved high-quality development during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period

In the face of complex internal and external situations, the textile industry has closely adhered to the requirements of high-quality development, stayed firm, constantly consolidated manufacturing advantages, and continuously improved basic capabilities and industrial chain modernization levels. The quality, power, and efficiency of industry development have achieved fundamental changes. , its position in serving the overall national strategic situation has become increasingly prominent.

During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, the industry actively promotes supply-side structural reform and strives to realize the transformation from Made in China to China’s creation, China’s speed to China’s quality, and Chinese products to China’s brands. Transformation, the status of traditional pillar industries in the industry continues to consolidate;

In the past five years, focusing on the development goals set in the “Outline of Building a Powerful Textile Country (2011-2020)”, the industry’stechnological innovation, brand building,Talent training and green development have leapt to a new level, with most indicators reaching or even leading the world’s advanced levels. The achievements of the industry have made outstanding contributions to building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way.

(1) The industry actively implements the strategy of manufacturing a strong country and plays an important role in building a modern industrial system

System advantages and scale advantages have been continuously strengthened, and comprehensive competitiveness has been further enhanced. During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, China’s manufacturing capacity and international trade scale have long ranked first in the world, and its position in the global value chain has steadily improved. In 2020, my country’s total textile fiber processing volume reached 58 million tons, accounting for more than 50% of the world’s share, and its chemical fiber output accounted for more than 70% of the world’s total; textile and clothingexports Amounted to US$299 billion, ranking first in the world.

The quality and efficiency of development have been continuously optimized, and the overall quality has been greatly improved. The industry has accelerated the modernization of the industrial chain and comprehensively optimized and upgraded the industrial structure. The proportion of fiber consumption of the three major end products has been adjusted from 46.4:28.1:25.5 in 2015 to 40:27:33 in 2020. At the end of the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”, my country has become the country with the widest coverage of fiber production varieties. Among them, the total production capacity of high-performance fibers accounts for more than one-third of the world’s total, and the processing volume of industrial textiles fibers has increased by more than 40% compared with 2015. A large number of industry-specialized and new small giant companies, individual champion companies, and industry chain leading companies have emerged. As of the end of 2020, the number of listed textile and apparel companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen has reached 192. Hengli, Weiqiao, Xinxing Jihua, Shenghong and other textile companiesOnly when more and more young talents join the textile industry can our business be successful.

Third, we must give full play to the power of the market. The textile industry is a highly market-oriented and fully competitive industry. The mission goals and key projects proposed in the “Outline and Guiding Opinions” require the practice and efforts of market entities, that is, the majority of textile enterprises and related service entities, to be implemented and completed. China Textile Federation and its affiliated departments and professional associations should play the role of bridges and links, allowing government departments in industrial clusters, provincial and municipal industry authorities and local associations to play a strong supporting role.

Fourth, we must adhere to the practice of systematic science. It is necessary to promote the implementation of the “Outline and Guiding Opinions” in accordance with the actual industry, objective environment, scientific theory, and market laws. Establish a “game of chess” thinking, carry out relevant work with a systematic concept, focus on key tasks and main contradictions, and balance various tasks and tasks; it is necessary to implement dynamically and adjust the direction, content and rhythm of work in a timely manner according to changes in actual conditions.

Although there is knowledge in battle, courage is the foundation; although scholars have knowledge, conduct is the foundation. In the tide of national development and national rejuvenation, the blueprint for industry development has been drawn up.
