China Cotton Association: Demand from textile companies is good and turnover inventory has dropped significantly

According to the China Cotton Association’s survey data on 154 cotton delivery and supervision warehouses in 18 provinces and cities in the national cotton trading market, the total national cotton turnover inventory at the end of May was approximately 2.6894 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 540,300 tons, and the decline was larger than the previous month. It expanded last month, down from 158,900 tons in the same period last year.
As of the end of May, mainland commodity cotton turnover stocks decreased by 37,600 tons month-on-month.
Looking at provinces, Jiangsu Province ranks first in inventory, followed by Shandong Province and Henan Province in third place. Judging from the changes in inventory, some major consuming provinces showed varying degrees of decline from the previous month. The largest decline was Shandong Province, which dropped by 24,200 tons; Henan Province followed by a decrease of 13,000 tons; the decline in other provinces was less than 5,500 tons.
At the same time, Xinjiang cotton stocks have dropped significantly. As of the end of May, the turnover inventory of commercial cotton in 43 warehouses in Xinjiang was 1.9701 million tons, a decrease of 502,700 tons month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 9,400 tons. (End)
