Ankang Hanbin: There is “sericulture” in industrial development, and a “good recipe” to increase income and become rich!
“I am not in good health this year and cannot raise silkworms. Fortunately, the sericulture factory of the village cooperative purchased all the idle mulberry leaves at my home and earned more than 1,600 yuan.” Lives in Dahe Town, Shuihanbin District, Ankang, Shaanxi Province Huang Ronglian, a poverty-stricken household in Yanwan Village, said excitedly with a smile on her face. Huang Chaowen, a villager who went to the village committee with her to work, quickly answered: “The city’s assistance department supported our village in building a sericulture factory, which was a big practical thing. This year, I worked in the sericulture factory and earned a lot of money in just one month.” I paid 2,600 yuan, and when I raise autumn silkworms, I will still work to earn money.” Speaking of the silkworm factory, the villagers of Yanwan Village were full of praise.
Since the Municipal Entrepreneurship Employment Service Center has jointly assisted Yanwan Village in Dahe Town in February 2020, the center has been based on the actual situation of the village and insisted on treating sericulture as a village-level industry. The main direction of development is to use industry to create employment and to use industry to increase income. It has raised more than 100,000 yuan to equip the village with a silkworm co-breeding frame, distribute mulberry fertilizer, silkworm seeds and mulberry branch pruning tools, and vigorously support industrial development. At the same time, relevant experts from our city have been invited to the village many times to carry out training on sericulture technology and mulberry garden management technology, and large sericulture households and members of the sericulture industry cooperatives have been organized to visit and learn modern sericulture technology. In September 2020, with the strong support of the district and town governments and caring enterprises, the village-level sericulture factory construction project was launched. A new 700-square-meter sericulture factory was built, a 300-square-meter silkworm co-breeding room was renovated, and funds were raised. 100,000 yuan was spent to install a full set of modern sericulture equipment for the sericulture factory, purchase 12,000 mulberry saplings, and build a 25-acre village-level standardized mulberry garden.
In April this year, the sericulture factory was officially put into use, driving nearly 200 silkworms in the village, with a cumulative income of more than 450,000 yuan. More than 20 poverty-stricken laborers in the village were employed in the sericulture factory. With the expansion of breeding scale, the sericulture factory has also adopted the method of purchasing mulberry leaves to uniformly manage and protect the idle mulberry gardens of more than 30 migrant workers in the village. This not only brings profits to the idle mulberry gardens, but also greatly boosts the Villagers’ confidence in developing sericulture industry. Currently, nearly 100 summer silkworms are being raised, a steady increase compared with the same period last year. Autumn silkworms are also included in the breeding plan, achieving the goal of raising silkworms in three seasons a year.
On June 22, Hanbin District organized the heads of relevant departments directly under the district government to make a special trip to Yanwan Village to investigate the development of the rural revitalization industry. They fully affirmed that Yanwan Village will develop the sericulture industry according to local conditions, build a sericulture factory, and promote the improvement of the industry. The practice of increasing efficiency and driving the labor force out of poverty to achieve local transfer employment. He spoke highly of the Municipal Entrepreneurship and Employment Service Center’s insistence on supporting industries, creating employment, stabilizing poverty alleviation, and promoting income growth.
Industrial employment is an effective way to increase people’s income and achieve high-quality life. In the next step, the Municipal Entrepreneurship and Employment Service Center will continue to adhere to party building as the guide and team, focus on increasing income through industrial employment, focus on improving the skills of the people who have been lifted out of poverty, help Yanwan Village further expand the industrial scale, grasp industrial integration, seize opportunities, and continue to work hard to make every effort Promote the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, work with the cadres and masses of Yanwan Village on a new journey, and jointly paint a beautiful picture of rural revitalization.
