The traditional solution is to install a tension spring on the upper cleaning comb rack. Although the cleaning effect is enhanced, there are still other problems. If a tension spring is installed, the cleaned velvet flowers will accumulate between the cleaning comb and the tension spring, which is not conducive to being sucked away by the suction air and increases the workload of the operator. Due to the influence of the additional tension spring tension, the eccentric wheel, eccentric swing rod, swing arm, shift fork and other swing components accelerate wear, shorten the maintenance cycle, and increase the material consumption of the machine.

To this end, we have made the following improvements to the cleaner. First, change the eccentricity of the eccentric wheel from the original 5 mm to 7 mm; then, add an oil groove on the working circumference of the eccentric wheel to enhance the mechanical lubrication; finally, increase the thickness of the eccentric wheel by 0.1 mm. Leave appropriate clearance between the outer retaining ring and the eccentric swing rod to ensure good operation, and remove the additional tension spring.

Method 2: Sharpen the cleaning comb

The draw frames used by our company include FA272, FA302, FA306 and FA306A. For cleaning, a rotating velvet belt is used to wipe the upper roller. The fibers on the velvet belt are collected by the cleaning comb and then sucked into the cotton box through the upper suction port. After long-term operation, the velvet belt ages and relaxes, and the cleaning and combing needles are severely worn. As a result, the fibers on the velvet belt cannot be combed out normally, resulting in a large number of yarn defects, which affects the normal drafting of cotton fibers in the roving process and makes spinning difficult. The difficulty increases, resulting in a decrease in the quality of semi-finished products.

In response to this phenomenon, we began to adopt the cleaning comb tension spring method, which temporarily worked. However, over time, since the spring is always under stress, the swing bar and the swing bar shaft will work hard, causing excessive wear and increasing the investment in machine parts, so this method is not advisable.

Later, we replaced the cleaning comb with a new one, but after a short time, it became the same as before. Adjusting the angle of the cleaning comb did not work. After careful observation, it was found that the sharpness of the cleaning comb needle was smooth, the needle tip was convex, and it did not penetrate the flannel cloth enough. So we processed the cleaning comb. First, we took off the cleaning comb to flatten the area where it contacts the velvet belt, and sharpened the comb needle with sandpaper. Then, adjust the comb needle to the machine until the angle between the cleaning comb and the velvet belt is about 15 degrees.

After checking and repairing the above reasons one by one, the results were not satisfactory. Later, after long-term analysis and research, it was found that the problem was caused by a cleaning system suction tube on the side of the strip coiler. At the same time, a negative pressure is generated in the gap between the upper coiler and the panel, causing the sliver to adsorb to the sliver coiler and the fibers at the edge of the sliver to be sucked in.

Specific method of modification: remove the cleaning straw of the coiler, seal the suction port with tape, and clean the inside of the cleaner once a week. After the modification, this phenomenon no longer occurs, the quality of the sliver is greatly improved, and the sliver is dry.
