Shaanxi Shiquan: Jiangsu-Shaanxi cooperative sericulture project helps silkworm farmers increase their income

In 2021, the Sericulture Development Service Center of Shiquan County, Shaanxi Province actively seized the opportunities of the project construction year and Jiangsu-Shaanxi cooperation projects, and organized and implemented the “Shiquan County Small Silkworm Co-cultivation Facilities and Equipment Upgrading and Development” supported by Jiangsu-Shaanxi Cooperation Funds “Technology Integration Demonstration and Promotion Project”, the construction content of this project involves the demonstration of factory breeding of small silkworms, the demonstration of labor-saving breeding of large silkworms, the demonstration of high-quality silkworm cocoon production, the construction of standardized mulberry gardens, the application and promotion of sericulture machinery, the demonstration and promotion of efficient sericulture technology, and the demonstration and promotion of high-quality silkworms. Seven major projects including the upgrading of various production equipment are fully advanced as scheduled. As of the end of October, 5 sets of intelligent control systems for silkworm breeding environments have been built, equipped with 1,000 silkworm breeding boxes, 90 silkworm breeding vehicles, 1,000 silkworm nets, and 18 wet and dry thermometers; purchased silkworm breeding disinfection 34 machines, 33 mulberry cutting machines, 38 sliver machines, 10 electric dusting sifters, 73 gas masks, 3 rotary tillers, 256 quick-installed mobile silkworm beds; purchased new cocooning equipment 4.2 10,000 pieces, 40 automatic cocoon harvesting machines and 1 agricultural plant protection drone; compiled and printed 2,000 copies of the “Technical Manual on Silkworm Disease Prevention and Control”; distributed a batch of 4 combinations of high-quality silkworm pesticides to large sericulture companies; and produced high-quality silkworm seeds. The equipment upgrade project has been completed. At present, except for the 300-acre standardized mulberry garden construction project, all project-related facilities and equipment have been installed in place, and the main construction content of the project has been basically completed.

The construction focus of this project involves 8 towns, 8 administrative villages and 2 units. Incomplete statistics, the project has benefited 214 households and 717 people, including 103 sericulture households and migrant workersEmployment79 people, led to the transfer of land in mulberry gardens to 14 households, and 22 households in mulberry gardens to buy shares and receive dividends, benefiting 94 poor households and 337 people; it is expected that the annual income of beneficiary farmers from sericulture will increase by more than 2 million yuan. The distribution of silkworm medicine benefits farmers in the county who raise more than 20 silkworms every year. After the completion of the project, it will stably and continuously play the role of industrial employment and migrant employment, ensuring that farmers can steadily increase their income by relying on mulberry and sericulture, and achieve an effective connection between consolidating and expanding the results of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization.
