The assessment team investigates and guides the establishment of a modern sericulture park in Yilong County

On December 7, Hu Qiang, the second-level inspector of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, led an evaluation team to Yilong County to investigate and guide the establishment of a sericulture modern agricultural park. Shen Yifan, deputy mayor of Nanchong Municipal Government, and deputy director of the Yilong County Party Committee Secretary Guo Hongying accompanied the investigation.

Hu Qiang and his party successively visited Tonggu Township’s sericulture expert compound, mulberry branch crushing field, Tumen Town production and marketing docking platform, Bubisi deep processing base and other places. While listening to work introductions, they also went deep into mulberry gardens and sericulture. Greenhouses, production workshops, product exhibition halls, etc., learn more about the basic situation of the establishment of Yilong County Sericulture Modern Agriculture Park.

Yilong County is a key sericulture county and a high-quality cocoon base county in the province. In recent years, Yilong County has built a provincial four-star sericulture modern agricultural park of 15,724 acres with high standards in accordance with the idea of ”introducing a leading enterprise, creating an agricultural park, and cultivating a leading industry”, and has built 335 sericulture greenhouses and small silkworms. There are 30 breeding rooms in total, and the annual silkworm production reaches 47,000 pieces and more than 1,800 tons of silkworm cocoons.

At the subsequent evaluation work report meeting, Hu Qiang fully affirmed the construction of the Yilong County Sericulture Modern Agriculture Park. He pointed out that the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have elevated the construction of the park to the central task of agricultural development, and have formulated star ratings and dynamic management for the construction of the park. They have ensured that the work is arranged, supervised at ordinary times, and evaluated every year, just to review the various places. The effectiveness of modern agricultural park construction further encourages good practices, sums up experience and identifies deficiencies. It is hoped that Yilong will identify the correct problems, make up for the shortcomings, and complete the creation of the sericulture modern agricultural park with high quality.
