Recently, the sericulture breeding industry in Shanpen Town, Huichuan District, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province conducted an on-site production test, and the results were gratifying: the output of batches 1 to 6 of silkworm cocoons was 14,500 kilograms, with an output value of nearly 700,000 yuan, and the cocoon production rate increased 33.03%, and the output value rate increased by 58.97%. Starting from March this year, the Science and Technology Bureau of Huichuan District has given full play to the pioneering and exemplary role of party members, organized party members and cadres to carry out field surveys in Shanpen Town, analyze and judge the characteristics and technical needs of the sericulture industry, and provide technical support for the development of the sericulture industry in Shanben. Starting from May, the bureau has contracted municipal science and technology commissioner Luo Youhai to Shanpen Town to provide technical services for the sericulture industry, focusing on pre-sericulture disinfection, mulberry orchard pest control, silkworm seed harvesting, ant feeding, pesticide poisoning rescue, and sericulture period. Targeted guidance was provided to sericulture farmers in aspects such as dormant treatment, silkworm disease prevention and control, rearing of large silkworms, treatment of cocoons, grading of cocoons and disinfection after sericulture, which greatly improved the production efficiency of the town’s sericulture industry.
