Alar: Cotton processing is coming to an end and lint sales are slower than in previous years
At present, cotton processing in the ginnery in Alar region of Xinjiang is coming to an end, with the seed cotton processing rate reaching about 85%, but the lint fraction is the lowest in recent years (net lint fraction is around 36%-37%).
Affected by the sharp inversion of acquisition costs and futures and the overall weak purchase and sales, local ginners’ sales of lint have been slow. Most ginners have held up cotton prices, resulting in high lint stocks. .
