Textile UV resistance standard certification launched by various countries

Anti-UV standards for textile anti-UV fabrics and anti-UV clothing
The UV protection effect of clothing is mainly determined by the UV protection fabric of the outer fabric used. The color, thickness and density of the fabric are the three basic factors that affect the UV protection. The darker the fabric, the thicker and denser the fabric, the better the UV protection effect. During the production process, the use of other processes and finishing methods can also improve the UV protection performance of the fabric. Formal clothing with special UV protection effect will generally have a clear ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) value marked on the clothing label. The UV protection coefficient of the fabric can show the strength of the textile‘s UV protection. The UPF value marked on the textile indicates the number of times the textile can extend the sun protection time of the skin against ultraviolet radiation in its natural state (without any protection). . The larger the UPF value, the better the UV radiation protection for the skin.
Some countries and regions have successively launched UV resistance testing standards or certifications for textiles, such as Australia and New Zealand (AS/NZS 4399:1996), the United States (AADFWGREGTRTCC183:1998), the United Kingdom (BS7914:1998), China (GB/T 18830) and Europe (EN 13758-1) were all tested on non-stretched, dry new textiles. The International Testing Association for Applied UV Protection, a non-governmental organization, also launched the UV Standard 801 standard and certification. This test is carried out when the textile is stretched and wetted, and is based on stronger ultraviolet rays and more sensitive skin types. Compared with the national standards mentioned above, this standard is applicable to a wider range of product types and evaluates The results better reflect the actual condition of textiles in use.
After UV-resistant fabrics and UV-resistant clothing obtain UV Standard 801 certification, they can be authorized to use special hang tags. Consumers can easily identify the true UV protection capabilities of the products they purchase with this logo.
