The influence of various factors on the flame retardant properties of fabrics

Fabric flame retardant oxygen index flame retardant fabric
1. Fabric wool effect
The flame retardant in Penetration within the fabric has a great impact on flame retardant durability. If the fibers inside the fabric do not contain enough flame retardant, even if the fabric has sufficient weight gain, the oxygen index of the flame retardant fabric will still be very low, and the flame retardant performance will decrease rapidly after washing. When the wool effect of the fabric is very low, even after 1 wash, the oxygen index is 8 cm/(30min), the flame retardant and washability is greatly improved, and even after 12 washes, the oxygen index is still > 28%, meeting the flame retardant standards.
2. The amount of flame retardant
The amount of flame retardant is too small. The flame retardant effect is not achieved; when the amount of flame retardant is sufficient, after 12 washes, the flame retardant performance of the flame retardant fabric is better, but the strength of the fabric decreases greatly, and the hand feels hard and sticky, which affects the cross-linking and flame retardant durability. Decrease; only when the amount of flame retardant reaches a certain standard, the fabric will have good flame retardancy and can meet the standard requirements.
3. Cross-linking agent dosage
In principle, it can be combined with flame retardants. Thermosetting resins with cross-linked fibers can be used, but in actual application, factors such as fixing temperature, fixing time, and feel should be considered. The amount of cross-linking agent basically does not affect the flame retardant properties of woven fabrics, but it has a great impact on the feel, tear strength and durability of flame retardant fabrics.
4. Baking temperature
When the baking temperature is lower than 140℃ , the tear strength of the fabric is good, but the flame retardant and washability is not good; when the baking temperature is higher than 180℃, the strength of the fabric decreases greatly, affecting the wearing performance; when the baking temperature is higher than 150℃, less than 175 At ℃, the flame retardancy and wash resistance of the fabric are better, but the tear strength is reduced to a certain extent.
5. Baking time
Baking time directly affects the flame retardant and Cross-linking of cross-linking agents, thereby affecting wash resistance. Usually at the appropriate temperature (150~175 cc), the longer the baking time, the more complete the cross-linking of the flame retardant and cross-linking agent. If the baking time is too long, the strength of the fabric will decrease more, and the fabric will become brittle. It does not meet the requirements for consumption; when the baking time is too short, less than 2.5 minutes, the flame retardancy and washability are poor. Therefore, the baking time should be strictly controlled between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes.
