The dyeing of cotton flame-retardant fabrics is classified by the following two methods:

1. According to the different dyes used

1. Reactive dyeing, which is the most commonly used dye at present, meets the requirements of environmental protection. , good color fastness;

2. Direct dye dyeing, most of which come from natural plants, have poor light fastness;

3. Vat dye dyeing, also called Shilin dye or indanthrene dye, has ultra-high color fastness and is resistant to bleaching. It is mostly used in hotel bedding and hospitals. The dyeing cost of work clothes fabrics is higher than that of reactive dyeing.

2. Depending on the dyeing method used

1. Jig dyeing, Usually we call it vat dyeing. The fabric is rotated back and forth between two reels in the flat width. The fabric absorbs the dye liquid in the dye vat. This method is suitable for reactive dyes and direct dyes. This kind of machine occupies a small area and the equipment is relatively cheap, but it is not efficient. Taking a dyeing vat of three thousand meters as an example, the output of reactive dyeing in 24 hours is generally only nine thousand meters;

2. Pad dyeing is called open width. Continuous pad dyeing. After absorbing the dye liquid in the dye tank, the fabric is quickly squeezed by the upper and lower rollers, baked and solidified, and then washed and dried. The efficiency is greatly improved, and the output per hour is 1,200 meters to 3,000 meters. This kind of machine occupies a large area. It is actually a combination of a pad dyeing machine, a dryer and a washing machine. The dyeing cost is higher than that of jig dyeing, and the dye is relatively wasteful.
