The shrinkage problem has always been a “chronic problem” that has plagued China’s textile industry. For a long time, it has not been possible to find a practical and effective solution. solution. The shrinkage rate is not up to standard, which is already a very common problem in the textile industry, whether it is in the home textile industry or the clothing industry.
The official name of “shrinkage” is the washing dimensional change rate of the product, which refers to the percentage of textile shrinkage after washing or soaking in water. In response to the issue of shrinkage, the national standards for textile products made clear regulations as early as 2004: the washing dimensional change rate of high-quality textile products cannot exceed “2%-3%”, and the rate of change in washing dimensions of first-class products cannot exceed “2%-3%”. 4%”, and qualified products cannot exceed “2%–5%”.
To control the shrinkage of textiles, they must go through a pre-shrinking process. This process, regardless of whether it is spent on the process or professional and technical personnel, It will cost a lot of money. If a company adds a pre-shrinking process, the cost may increase by 7% to 8%. Compared with the price of fabrics that have not gone through the pre-shrinking process, there will naturally be a larger difference. Therefore, many companies will omit this process in order to reduce expenses.
The failure to meet the “shrinkage rate” standard is not only the conscious cost considerations of enterprises, but also related to the laxity of some enterprises in implementing testing procedures. For example, some companies did not strictly follow the fabric specifications when submitting for inspection. For example, they only took 2 meters of samples that should have been 3 meters long, which is very arbitrary. This results in the testing degree of the fabric being tested being greater than the specified degree, and the results will naturally be wrong by a thousand miles.
The textile fabrics produced by City Textile will have a pre-shrinking process during the production process, and the product quality will be strictly controlled to produce The fabric shrinkage is less than 3%, fully in line with international standards.
