The European standard for testing arc protective clothing fabrics is to test the corresponding data results of four pieces of fabric when exposed to arc reaction. The test conditions are: test voltage 400V, arc flash time 500ms, upper electrode made of aluminum, lower electrode made of copper, electrode space is 30mm, and the distance between the test sample and the electrode is 300mm.
European standards mainly have the following requirements: clothing must be designed with long sleeves to protect the entire upper body and torso; clothing buttons or zipper accessories can still operate normally after an arc flash reaction; clothing sewing threads, accessories, buttons Or zipper accessories will not cause further human injury after an arc flash reaction; metal accessories, buttons or zippers must be covered by fabric, and non-metallic accessories, buttons or zippers can be exposed on the surface.
