Industrial linkage, textile companies enter the automotive supplies market
In March this year, my country’s automobile production and sales exceeded 1 million units, becoming a major automobile production and consumption country. This has expanded huge development space for the automotive textile industry.
However, insiders from the China Textile Industry Association revealed to reporters on the 20th that the current annual domestic demand for automotive textiles is 62.5 million square meters, while domestic production capacity can only provide about 50%; the annual demand for automotive carpets is 12 million Square meters, China can only provide about 10%. “Every year, 4 billion US dollars of automotive textiles rely on imports.”
In addition to steel and plastic, the main part of a car is textiles. It is understood that the non-woven fabric used in a car is about 25 kilograms, involving more than 80 parts of the car, including car ceilings, carpets, seat fabrics, airbags, seat belts, tires, trunk linings, and backings. , protective panels, filter materials, tarpaulins, etc., and automobiles have high requirements for these textiles. Functional aspects require heat insulation, sound absorption, anti-skid, high strength, dimensional stability, color fastness and wear resistance; decorative aspects require beauty, comfort, breathability, anti-fouling, flame retardant, water absorption, anti-aging, anti-static, etc. .
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Transport, by 2010, my country’s automobile production will reach 10 million vehicles, the number of vehicles will reach 55 million, and the consumption of automotive textiles will reach 267,300 tons. The sales volume of automotive textiles will increase at an annual rate of 15%- 20% speed increment.
But now domestic automotive textiles cannot meet the rapidly growing needs of the automotive industry, and there is a large market gap. This is not just because of insufficient production, but the more important problem is the lack of brand.
Wang Yijin, the sales manager of Zhejiang Wenzhou Busen Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., has been working hard to contact relevant personnel of domestic automobile manufacturers and wants to introduce the automobile door windows and instrument sound insulation materials produced by his company to these manufacturers. However, after a period of time, except for a few minutes of chatting with Xie Baoxin, deputy director of the Engineering Research Institute of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., SAIC Motor, Shanghai Volkswagen, Guangzhou Honda and other companies have not been in contact due to various reasons.
He complained to reporters that although the automotive textile products we produce are not much different from similar foreign products in terms of quality, performance, etc., it is difficult to enter the door of the OEM. “The reasons for rejection are difficult. Be convincing.”
The above-mentioned insiders of the Textile Industry Association have another view on this: “This cannot be said to be entirely a problem of automobile manufacturers. As far as I know, many textile companies now know very little about the high-tech requirements of automobile textiles. But they just complain that others don’t accept their products.”
Today, developed countries pay more attention to the functionality and comfort of textiles in the development of automotive fabrics. Environmentally friendly, recyclable fabrics and fabrics with higher safety are receiving more and more attention. Fabric development is developing in the direction of integration, artistry, personalization and comfort. Advanced processing methods and finishing technologies such as embossing technology, high-frequency welding technology, and nanotechnology are all used in automotive fabrics.
This person believes that most of my country’s automotive textile companies are engaged in industrial fabrics, composite materials, coating materials, etc., and have not formed a complete industrial chain. They work alone and have not formed a scale, let alone a brand. ” The lack of brand is a stumbling block for my country’s automotive textiles to enter the international market.” A complete set of systematic quality control systems and standards that have been formed in foreign countries for a long time has also added a lot of difficulty and variables to our companies’ market expansion.
There is currently no authoritative statistics on the total number of companies producing automotive textiles in China. However, according to the reporter’s understanding, except for a few large companies such as Jiangsu Kuangda Automotive Textile Group Co., Ltd., most of them are small in scale. R&D capabilities are weak. In addition, the lagging industry standards of automotive textiles and insufficient independent innovation have hindered the further development of my country’s automotive textiles.
Therefore, Shen Jieliang, chairman of Jiangsu Kuangda Automotive Textile Group Co., Ltd., suggested that we should rely on leading domestic automotive textile companies to establish China’s own product development engineering center, and formulate my country’s automotive textile industry standards as soon as possible, and speed up Intensify scientific research and development efforts to create China’s own brand of automotive fabrics, truly giving my country’s automotive textiles a voice in the international automotive parts field.
The reporter learned from relevant parties that the industrial textile application technology related to the textile industry adjustment and revitalization plan includes six aspects. Among them, automotive textiles are included in the special industrialization project of special decorative textiles. At present, the application process for this special project has been launched. In the next step, the state will determine the key technologies and application projects to be supported. These projects mainly include “low-toxicity and low-odor technology for automotive fabrics” and “recycling technology for automotive decorative materials”, etc., which will provide funding and policy support for the scientific research and development of automotive textiles.
