The main content of US federal regulations on the determination of flame retardant properties of textiles
Classification:
flame retardant fabric
U.S.Flame RetardantSafety regulations are Volume 16 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, which stipulates three requirements for flame-retardant fabrics combustion levels:
Level 1: General combustion characteristics:
Flame-retardant fabrics that meet this requirement are considered to have no abnormal burning characteristics in the trade. Clothing and flame-retardant fabrics with flat surfaces: flame spread time ≥3.5s from surface VelvetFlame-retardant cloth: flame spread time>7s
Others: When the flame burning is so weak that it does not ignite or does not burn the bottom of the fabric, flame retardant fabrics that can quickly surface flame within 0~7s
Level 2: Medium combustion characteristics:
Flame-retardant cloth that meets this requirement is considered in the trade to have burning characteristics between normal and rapid burning SurfaceFleece flame-retardant fabric: flame spread time 4~7s (including ignition or burning at the bottom of the fabric).
Level 3: Rapid and violent burning:
This type ofFlame-retardant fabricis considered dangerously flammable. Due to the rapid and violent burning of this flame-retardant fabric, it is considered unsuitable to be made into clothing in the trade. Flame-retardant fabric with flat surface: flame spread time <3.5s. Flame-retardant fabric with raised surface: flame spread time <4s, and The base fabric melts or ignites.
