A general introduction to new cashmere blended materials

As market demand continues to increase, companies are looking for new materials to blend with cashmere. Currently, new materials mainly include soy protein fiber and Tencel fiber, as well as cotton fiber.
Soybean protein fiber
Soybean protein fiber has fine monofilament, small volume and mass, high elongation, acid and alkali resistance, good gloss and moisture absorption and moisture conductivity. It has a soft feel like cashmere and a soft luster like silk. It is Known as “artificial cashmere”. Judging from the characteristics of the two, the spinnability should be improved after blending, and the pilling phenomenon will also be improved. There are two points that need to be pointed out:
(1) Pay attention to the dyeing performance after blending, especially the levelness of dyeing;
(2) Due to poor thermal stability, the finishing temperature also needs to be paid attention to.
Tencel fiber
Tencel fiber has a skin-core structure. Because the skin layer is very thin, it is close to a full core layer structure, and the core layer is composed of highly crystalline and oriented tassel-shaped giant fibrils and amorphous areas. This characteristic determines that the fiber has high hygroscopicity and dyeability. The longitudinally parallel arrangement of cellulose crystals gives the fiber high strength, which is close to that of polyester fiber, which is beneficial to its ability to spin high-strength yarns. Under wet conditions, 85% of the fiber strength is maintained. In addition, it also has excellent high wet modulus, which makes the fabric shrinkage extremely low, only about 2%, thus having good dimensional stability and Easy to save features. This fiber combines the comfort of cotton, the high strength of polyester, the high moisture absorption and drape of viscose, and the feel and luster of silk.
Both Tencel and cashmere fibers have soft characteristics. The smoothness of cashmere after blending complements the smoothness of Tencel, making cashmere/Tencel sweaters particularly comfortable and natural to wear next to the body. Moreover, Tencel fiber has higher strength. After blending, it can make up for the lack of strength of cashmere fiber and become a high-end and ideal light product.
Cotton fiber ;
By blending with cashmere fiber, cotton fabrics are given a soft feel, or fine fluff is produced on the surface of the fabric, thereby improving the quality of traditional cotton fabrics. Considering the price of cashmere, the proportion of cashmere blended is generally controlled at 10-20%, the yarn count develops towards high branching, and the organizational structure is mostly twill, with fine texture and natural luster. Especially in the post-finishing process, light raising and softening treatment need to show the excellent properties of cashmere fiber while avoiding damage to the cashmere fiber. In Italy, cotton and cashmere blended fabrics are the best among casual cotton fabrics, and the clothing market is increasingly fond of this high-quality fabric. In China, this technology is also under research, but has not yet been put into mass production. The development of such fabrics will help increase the value of cotton fabrics and become a new hot spot in the application of cashmere fiber.
