Anhui Funan County vigorously develops the silkworm industry to help rural revitalization
The mulberry garden in Funan, Anhui Province covers an area of 13,000 acres. Since 2021, spring silkworms have produced 365.5 tons of cocoons, with an output value of approximately 23 million yuan. It is expected that the annual output value in 2021 will reach about 58 million yuan, an increase of 65.7% compared with last year.
First, technology leadership. Multi-batch breeding technology is introduced to raise 6 to 7 batches of silkworms a year, and new trials promote the labor-saving sericulture model of raising silkworms twice a day. The sericulture industrial chain has been extended, the mulberry leaf tea production technology of sericulture farmers and the sericulture scrap crusher have been introduced, and the comprehensive utilization of sericulture has been diversified. This summer and autumn, the net income from silkworm breeding is expected to be more than 5,000 yuan per mu.
The second is policy support. Build a sericulture industry ecology and introduce a number of measures to support the development of the sericulture industry. Strive for a subsidy of 458,600 yuan from superior square clusters, a special work fund of 800,000 yuan to support the development of the silkworm industry, and a special project fund of more than 500,000 yuan. Currently, there are 46 large sericulture farmers in Funan County with an area of more than 50 acres, 36 large households with an area of more than 100 acres, and 21 households with an area of more than 200 acres.
The third is to optimize services. A sericulture production management center was established to fully serve the development of sericulture production entities based on the work requirements of “four deliveries and one service”. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 2 centralized presentations have been carried out, technical services have been provided to enterprises more than 20 times, more than 1,000 copies of technical materials have been distributed, and sericulture enterprises have been recommended to the Anhui Sericulture Research Institute for industry-university-research collaboration 5 times.
