Supercritical runny waterless dyeing technology is popular

Recently, at a seminar on “waterless dyeing technology” hosted by the Fujian Provincial Department of Science and Technology and co-organized by the Quanzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the scientific research results of “waterless dyeing” brought by the Hong Kong Productivity Council were received by experts including Fengzhu, Haitian and many other Quanzhou textile companies are pursuing it. The industry believes that once this technology is put into practice in Quanzhou, it will greatly promote energy conservation and consumption reduction and the upgrading of the industrial structure of the textile industry. According to reports, the dyeing and finishing industry is the foundation of the textile industry. In the traditional bleaching and dyeing process, water is the main dye medium, so a large amount of industrial wastewater is generated during the process. Printing and dyeing wastewater is seriously polluted. The COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) is generally 1200-1400mg/L, and some are as high as 2000mg/L, making it difficult to treat. At the same time, the use of new dyes and new additives has made it more difficult to treat printing and dyeing wastewater. Today, when sustainable development is advocated, the traditional dyeing and finishing industry places a huge burden on the environment. This also forces the printing and dyeing industry to develop innovative technologies to replace the traditional inefficient, high water consumption, and high pollution printing and dyeing processes.

This time, the “supercritical fluid waterless dyeing technology” brought by Dr. Lam Kam-xin of the Hong Kong Productivity Council utilizes the semi-liquid gas state of supercritical fluid, which can dissolve dyes and easily penetrate into textiles. Internally, the process of dye dissolution—adsorption—dying is completed. It basically eliminates the main shortcomings of the traditional water dyeing process, shortens the dyeing cycle from hours to tens of minutes, and basically achieves “zero” emissions, which is not only environmentally friendly but also efficient. Wu Zhongpei, director of the Quanzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, said that the textile and garment industry is currently one of the main pillar industries in Quanzhou. Quanzhou has formed a huge industrial cluster spanning the upper, middle and lower reaches of the textile and garment industry. However, in recent years, the textile printing and dyeing belt has The environmental problems in the future have become increasingly serious. “This waterless dyeing technology is an effective technical solution for the current implementation of cleaner production in the printing and dyeing industry. It can solve the pollution problem in the printing and dyeing industry from the source and is of great significance to the sustainable development of Quanzhou’s economy.”
