In order to expand exports, we are actively looking for high-end clothing fabrics!

Compared with China’s US$60 billion in textile exports, India’s US$16 billion in textile exports seems a bit insignificant, although India’s domestic market is approximately US$40 billion. Observers say that Indian clothing manufacturers must develop towards high value-added clothing and at the same time expand production capacity, so they are clearly in urgent need of high-end clothing fabrics. Fabrics and accessories produced in India are suitable for home decoration, but there are insufficient sources of clothing fabrics.

The Ministry of Textiles of India has set the export target of the textile and garment industry at US$50 billion in 2010. In order to achieve this target, fabric import channels must be expanded. To this end, India recently held a fabric and accessories exhibition in Bangalore with the purpose of establishing a supply platform for qualified suppliers. This is also the third edition of the fair, which provides a wealth of fabric supply information for garment manufacturers, exporters, fashion designers, purchasing companies and commercial companies. There will be 84 exhibitors at this fair, including 12 international companies, with a total of 180 exhibition halls.
