German company invests in opening clothing factory in Armenia
The German-owned WKSArmenia company invested more than 500,000 US dollars in Armenia to open a clothing factory in the Amashiya region of Shirak region.
The general manager of the company said: After the garment factory is put into operation, it will provide 150 jobs and all the products of the factory will be sold to Germany. In the first year after it is put into production, the annual output value can reach several million euros. In the first few months, only men’s shirts will be produced, and later, various men’s and women’s clothing will be gradually added, with a monthly output of about 18,000 pieces.
The company also plans to invest US$400,000 to open a second garment factory, and has purchased 2,000 square meters of land. At the same time, some public facilities will be built locally.
