Bangladesh seeks more opportunities to expand garment exports
On August 10, the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh (EPB) announced that the government will assist companies in exploring garment export markets such as Brazil, Russia, Australia, South Africa and South Korea. In the early 1970s, Bangladesh’s annual garment exports were 210 million pieces; 10 years later, it increased to 1.88 billion pieces; in the 2010-11 fiscal year, it reached 18 billion pieces. Experts predict that India and China are potential countries for Bangladesh’s clothing exports, and exports will increase by 25% in 15 years.
