On October 21, the China Cotton Association held the fifth session of the Fourth Standing Council and the National CottonSituation Analysis Meeting in Beijing. The governing units of China Cotton Association and the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Market Regulation, Bureau of Statistics, China FiberQualityMonitoring Center, China Agriculture The heads of relevant departments such as the Development Bank and the ChinaCotton Textile Industry Association attended the meeting.
The meeting notified the association’s preliminary work and fourth quarter work arrangements, reviewed and voted on the “Recommendation on Change of Relevant Persons in Charge of the Cotton Logistics Branch of the China Cotton Association”, the “14th Five-Year Plan” Development Plan of the China Cotton Association and the 203 Five-year long-term goals” and other matters. The meeting analyzed the domestic and foreign cotton and cotton textile industry production, purchase and sales situation and future market trends since 2020/21, as well as the long-term and short-term impact of the new crown epidemic, restrictions on Xinjiang cotton and other events on my country’s cotton and textile industry; relevant departments notified the new Annual cotton policy and related situations; representatives at the meeting exchanged views on cotton purchases in the new year, put forward macro-control policy suggestions and corporate risk management suggestions for problems that may arise in the new year’s purchase and sales, and discussed how to accelerate the sustainability of “Chinese Cotton” development projects to promote high-quality and sustainable development of China’s cotton industry.
During the meeting, the signing ceremony of terminal brand members and supply chain members of the “China Cotton” sustainable development project and the awarding ceremony of the contracted enterprises were also held.
