Guangdong Zengcheng’s denim apparel exports hit record high
According to statistics, in 2011, Zengcheng, Guangdong exported a total of 28,000 batches of denim clothing with a value of nearly US$2.2 billion. The value increased by 2.91% compared with the previous year. The export momentum was strong and hit a new record high.
Denim clothing is a specialty product of Zengcheng area, and the garment industry is also one of the three pillar industries of Zengcheng City. According to statistics, there are nearly 500 export garment manufacturers in Zengcheng area, with more than 100,000 employees and an annual output of more than 350 million items. This has solved the employment problem and brought considerable economic benefits to Zengcheng area. However, due to the impact of the debt crisis in the United States and Europe, the slowdown in the pace of global economic recovery, and the downward trend in my country’s export growth, the export situation of denim apparel companies is grim.
In response to the above problems, the Zengcheng Inspection and Quarantine Bureau continues to do a good job in quality management of raw and auxiliary materials for exported clothing, intensifies efforts to send policies and information to factories, and helps foreign trade companies make good use of the preferential certificate of origin policy; vigorously promote the classified management system, speed up The speed of customs clearance of exported clothing has contributed to the rise in trade volume of exported clothing despite the decrease in orders.
