% of mainland China’s textiles exported to Taiwan will enjoy zero tariffs
The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) between mainland China and Taiwan will enter the second phase of tariff reduction. Under the agreement, 95% of mainland China’s textile products exported to Taiwan on the early harvest list (with original tariffs at or below 7.5%) will enjoy zero tariffs starting from January 1, 2012. At the same time, tariffs on goods with original tariffs higher than 7.55% will be reduced to 2.5%.
