my country’s textile and clothing exports have been “cut in half”
The latest data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in February 2012, my country’s exports of textiles and clothing were approximately US$9.712 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 7.01% and a month-on-month decrease of 54.87%. Among them, exports of textile yarns, fabrics and products were US$4.264 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.90%, and a month-on-month decrease of 44.45%; exports of clothing and clothing accessories were US$5.448 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 15.10%, and a month-on-month decrease of 60.64%.
From January to February 2012, the cumulative exports of textiles and clothing were US$31.23 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2.59%.
