Egypt launches safeguard measures investigation on imported cotton and cotton blended products
On February 23, 2012, at the request of Cotton and Textile Industries Holding Co., the Trade Agreements Bureau of the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade launched a safeguard measure investigation into imported cotton and cotton blended textiles, and imposed an additional 10% tax on the products involved, and no less than Temporary safeguard measures tax of EGP 3.33/kg. The customs codes of the products involved are 52.08.52.09, 52.10, 52.11, 52.12, 54.07, 54.08, 55.12, 55.13, 55.14, 55.15, 55.16.
