Ben Teijin plans to set up a clothing fiber research and development center in China
“Nihon Keizai Shimbun” reported that Teijin announced on the 18th that it plans to set up a clothing fiber R&D center in China with an investment of 2 billion yen. It is expected to be officially opened in April 2013. It is also Teijin’s first overseas clothing fiber R&D center. . China’s ever-expanding clothing demand and high requirements for clothing material quality are the main reasons why Teijin accelerates its business in China in line with market demand.
Teijin will set up a new clothing fiber research and development center in its original clothing factory in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. It will mainly develop multi-functional polyester and clothing with high insulation and moisture absorption properties. At the same time, Teijin plans to expand the development capabilities of this R&D center to the field of carbon fiber used in the aviation and automotive industries.
Previously, Teijin’s research and development of clothing fibers was limited to Japan. However, with China’s rapid economic growth and improvement in material standards, the demand for high-performance clothing products has expanded year by year. Teijin is optimistic about the development prospects of China’s mid-to-high-end clothing market, taking the Chinese market as a Center to accelerate the development and production of new products.
