Pakistan’s raw cotton exports hit record level
The latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows that in the first nine months of this fiscal year (July 2011 to March 2012), Pakistan’s raw cotton exports reached US$362 million, which was not only much higher than the US$277 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year. US dollars, which also exceeded the entire export volume of US$360 million in the previous fiscal year, setting a record. India’s unclear cotton export policy, Pakistan’s bumper cotton harvest, and the recovery of cotton demand in the international market have all contributed to the growth of Pakistan’s raw cotton exports.
