India imposes anti-dumping duties again on Chinese POY
The Indian Ministry of Finance decided to impose anti-dumping duties on POY (pre-oriented yarn) originating in China for another five years.
Based on the sunset review, the country’s Ministry of Finance decided to impose an anti-dumping tax of US$542.22/ton on all POY imported from China.
India’s previous anti-dumping duties on Chinese-made POY were launched in August 2007 and lasted for five years.
The sunset review was initiated last year, during which the Indian Ministry of Finance extended the collection period of anti-dumping duties to February 2012.
Earlier, major POY manufacturers such as Reliance Industries, Garden Silk Mill, Alok Industries, and Indrama Chemical Fiber Mills submitted applications to the legal department to complain about POY imports from China.
