On May 14, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine released sample survey data on the impact of foreign technical trade measures on export companies among 2,600 export companies in my country. Data show that exports of textile shoes and hats rank among the top five industries affected by foreign technical trade measures. The annual direct loss of export trade of textile shoes and hats was US$5.541 billion, accounting for 8.9% of the total direct losses. Sampling shows that the types of technical trade measures affecting my country’s industrial product exports by major trading partners are concentrated in five aspects: certification requirements, technical standard requirements, toxic and hazardous substance limit requirements, labeling requirements, and packaging and material requirements.
