Mozambique seed cotton purchase price continues to fall
As the international cotton market price fell 56% compared with last year, the Mozambican government’s latest minimum purchase price for seed cotton was 30% lower than in 2011. In 2012, the lowest price for first-grade seed cotton in Mozambique was 10.5 meticals/kg (approximately US$0.38), and for second-grade seed cotton in 2012, the lowest price was 10.5 meticals/kg (about 0.38 US dollars) Seed cotton costs 8 meticais/kg (approximately US$0.28/kg).
