Cotton in Shache County enters the Tusup period
The recent agro-meteorological conditions in Yarkand County have been favorable to the growth and development of cotton. On August 30, cotton in the crop observation area of Yarkand County entered the cotton growth period, and the development period was 15 days earlier than in previous years. The Tuxup period is the most critical period for determining yield. Agricultural meteorological observers conducted investigations and analyzes on the cotton growth conditions, effective density, height, number of fruit branches, and fields at the measurement points. From the analysis results, the density of measuring points is 17.25 plants/㎡, the leaf area index is 2.9, and the height is 62cm. The number of fruit branches in the high-yield field was 10.7, and the number of fruit branches in the low-yield field was 10.4. The relative soil humidity is within the appropriate range of cotton soil moisture, and the cotton grows well.
