“Colorful tussah” appears in Fengcheng, Liaoning
September 2, Fengcheng, Liaoning. The colorful tussah is a species preserved and utilized by the Sericulture Research Institute of the Liaoning Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The institute conserves more than 90 tussah varieties and materials, accounting for more than 70% of the country’s tussah germplasm resources.
The institute has been strengthening the rescue collection and protection of rare tussah germplasm resources, using distant hybridization technology to innovate germplasm, continuously enriching the tussah gene bank, and continuing to improve the construction of the tussah germplasm resource database.
