In order to improve work safety while on duty or when dealing with traffic accidents, traffic police generally wear reflective vests and raincoats to improve their visibility. However, since the reflective vests passively emit light, they can only be used in environments with low visibility or at night. The effect is limited, so it is risky for traffic police on duty. In order to improve the safety of traffic police on duty, Taiwan Textile Industry Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as Taiwan Textile Research Institute) cooperated with the industry to jointly develop “LED active warning clothing” and will donate 200 pieces to Taipei City and New Taipei City. We have conducted experiences with traffic police from the traffic brigades of Kaohsiung City and other three municipalities, and we hope that the application of warning uniforms can be expanded in the future. �</p
With reference to other relevant international standards and through cooperation with the British Standards Institution-bsi, Taiwan Textile Institute invited more than 10 scholars and experts from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Finland, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan to participate in the formulation of “LED The industry specification “PAS10412” for “active warning clothing”, the formulation of this specification is supported by the “Textile Research Institute Innovative Forward Technology Research Program” of the Technology Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs �纺织综合所也因此获得英国标准协会-bsi颁发“2015BSIAWARD新创标准贡献奖”之殊荣� �</p

Zhou Guocun, spokesperson of the Taiwan Textile Research Institute, said that reflective vests or raincoats must be illuminated by lights to reflect light. They are passively emitting light. If the driver only turns on the low beam or even does not turn on the lights, the function of the reflective vest will be limited. LED active light-emitting warning clothing can emit light by itself without relying on external light sources, which can improve the safety of traffic police officers on duty. �</p
