Sun Ruizhe analyzed that under the new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial revolution, technological innovation is reshaping the form and pattern of the cotton textile industry from four dimensions.
First, promote the upgrading of the cotton textile product system in the direction of functionality and differentiation. The fusion application of non-cotton fiber and cotton fiber not only alleviates the supply and demand gap of cotton raw materials, but also greatly improves the functionality and differentiation of products. According to statistics, in 2020, the application proportion of non-cotton fibers will increase to 65.3%. Technological innovation is changing the connotation and extension of cotton spinning products. Second, promote the upgrading of the cotton textile manufacturing system in the direction of intelligent and greening. Driven by technological innovation, a manufacturing system of “high efficiency, high quality, high responsibility, and low cost” is taking shape. Third, promote the upgrading of the cotton textile organizational system in the direction of specialization and networking. Fourth, promote the upgrading of the cotton textile value system in the direction of service and capitalization. In the capital market, technological innovation is becoming the core value of the industry, changing corporate valuation and growth logic by shaping expectations and prospects.
With the increase in R&D investment in the industry, relying on scale advantages and system advantages, cotton textile scientific and technological innovation capabilities have achieved systematic improvements, and are moving from the following and parallel stages to the leading stage. During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, the total number of valid patent applications in the cotton textile industry reached more than 7,500, 70 standards were completed, a large number of innovative results emerged, and the standard system became more complete. Key processes and equipment technologies continue to make breakthroughs, the quality and efficiency of production are greatly improved, and product quality and categories continue to be enriched. With technical support, China has become the country with the largest yarn production, the widest fiber applications, and the most complete product varieties in the world. It is a global leader in high-quality cotton textile products such as dyed yarn, high-end shirt-dyed fabrics, and high-end denim. Overall, China’s cotton textile industry has met the basic conditions to achieve industrial paradigm change and has entered a new era driven by technological innovation.�Typical achievements in industrial upgrading and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
