With the theme of “Fashion + Life”, this year’s “Science·Art·Fashion” Festival has carried out various forms of academic activities. The theme implies that Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology has always been on the journey of promoting beauty, pursuing beauty, and creating beauty. It adheres to the school motto of “Walking with Beauty” and vividly interprets the school’s inheritance and innovation of excellent traditional culture with its unique school-running advantages and distinctive school-running characteristics. , the mission and responsibility of helping the cultural rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and serving the people’s better life. Jia Ronglin, dean of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, said in his opening speech that the “Science·Art·Fashion” Festival is the most distinctive school-wide cultural and academic activity of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. As an important part of the opening ceremony, the 2021 International Young Designers Invitational Competition was held at the same time. The 2021 International Young Designers Invitational Competition (IYDC) is one of the important contents of the 17th “Science·Art·Fashion” Festival of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. It is hosted by Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, hosted by Beijing Institute of Fashion Art and Engineering, and Beijing International Design A global fashion design event jointly organized by Zhou, China Fashion Designers Association, and International Federation of Fashion Institutes (IFFTI). After review by the Academic Committee of the organizing committee, a total of 24 series and 111 sets of clothing entered the finals.
Adhering to the concept of “lucid waters and lush mountains are valuable assets”, the theme of this International Young Designer Invitational Competition is set as “Design + Sustainability”. Young designers from all over the world have created creative design works that are forward-looking and market-oriented and can be commercially transformed after self-aesthetic understanding, integration and breakthrough of the concepts of “environmentally friendly and green fashion” to convey their vision of ” Understanding and interpreting issues of global concern such as “sustainable development” and “harmonious coexistence between man and nature”.
In order to reflect internationalization and professionalism, the 2021 International Young Designers Invitational Competition invited Liu Yuanfeng, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the China Fashion Designers Association and former president of the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, Fang Ying, Chairman of the Beijing Fashion Designers Association, Liu Wei, China Golden Summit Fashion Designer, National Day Zou You, the head of costume design for the 70th anniversary and centenary celebrations of the Party and a professor at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and Xiang Jiangpeng, vice president and creative design director of Ningbo Boyang Clothing Group Co., Ltd., formed a high-level judging panel.
After on-site performance and professional jury review, one gold, silver, and bronze medal winner and five excellence awards were finally selected.
The work that won the gold medal was Janey Cribbin, a contestant from the UK. Her work “Obsession For Excess collection” uses new materials and new techniques to integrate the concepts of environmental friendliness and green fashion into The design works fully bloomed and had extremely high market conversion value, and were well received by the judges and the audience.
On the opening day of this “Science·Art·Fashion” festival, in the silver hall of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, the 2021 Beijing International Jewelry Art Exhibition also opened successfully. There are many highlights in this exhibition, which is divided into five special exhibition areas, namely conceptual domain, material domain, digital domain, craft domain and jewelry brand exhibition area. The works come from the latest works of 720 artists from 35 countries and regions around the world. The final selection 277 authors participated in the exhibition. It is the highest international jewelry art exhibition held in China. The exhibited works combine Chinese and Western concepts, ranging from educational institutions to independent schools.�From artists to designers to design institutions, the forms are diverse and the types are rich.
